Apple's most expensive smartphone sells out in minutes

In less than 10 minutes,on pre-order day delivery, the iPhone X gets sold out

The iPhone X – officially pronounced “10” – costs from £999 with 64GB of storage, topping out at £1149 with 256GB of storage.

Despite the price tag, demand is high. The company’s online shop experienced server issues in the minutes immediately following the launch of pre-orders, and the initial allocation of devices, due to arrive on  November 3.

It is being rumour3d that however that Apple is facing problems with its Face ID recognition software, A report from Bloomberg claimed Apple was forced to remove some quality control elements from its production line in order to boost quantity of supply of the iPhone X units, which is reportedly facing supply constraints.

The company is also concerned about the sales numbers iPhone 8 and 8 Plus is gathering judging by their first week of sales, with this partly to be due to more demand for iPhone X, perceived as giving more quality while some are settling for the seemingly less superior models like the iPhone 6, saving their money.

“It seems when Apple announced the forthcoming iPhone X, it changed the market dynamic, and probably depressed demand for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus,” said Mike Levin, co-founder of CIRP. “Rather than waiting for and buying the iPhone 8, it looks like buyers in this quarter either bought existing models, or decided to wait for iPhone X, later in the year.”
