The Lagos State Ministry of Science and Technology, in partnership with the Wifi Combat Academy has organized a one-day training workshop on computer programming systems with the theme “Hour of Code” for public school students in the state.

At the workshop, Mr. Olufemi Olubiyi, Commissioner for Science and Technology, advised students to make good use of the opportunity presented to them by transforming themselves into formidable programmers of the future.

Olubiyi also pledged the commitment of his ministry to the development of IT skills in the state, admonishing the students to practicing the coding skills both at home and in school.

He added that despite the present economic challenges which the country currently faces, having computer skills would not only increase their knowledge but also create more opportunities for the students, especially as we are in a digital age.
