All Hail the Mac! Apple Set to Increase Macbook/Ipad Battery Life

If you've ever had any doubt as to Apple's almost pitbull tenacity in maintaining the lead in the IT hardware..and even software market, then kindly take some time to recount all the cutting-edge technology they've churned out over the years...the MAC, ipod and of course the groundbreaking iphone and ipad.

It is this same innovation that is driving Apple to its latest venture..good news MAC users, your battery life is about to get even longer than its already impressive 6-10 hours. Word out of Silicon Valley is that Apple is all geared to use IGZO — or indium gallium zinc oxide displays for its next generation of MacBooks. Summarily, IGZO is an oxide semiconductor used in TFTs, or thin film transistors, which allows electron mobility at a rate approximately 10 times faster than amorphous silicon-based LCD displays. That means IGZO displays provide lower power consumption, which gives mobile devices a longer battery life.

The new technology will reportedly hit shelves for MACs next year while a specific time frame for ipads was not given.

One more reason to love Apple, perhaps?
