Delta state confirms 1 case

According to reports five people were quarantined, following suspicion that they had monkey pox.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nicholas Azinge also told reporters that the result of the test samples are being expected.

According to Today News, Azinge said this during the debriefing session from officials of National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

While listing the local government areas where the five suspects were identified, the commissioner also said that experts are handling the cases.

Monkeypox is a 'zoonotic' virus That means it comes from animals. It can be transmitted from animals to humans and from humans to humans.
