The memorial service for Muhammad Ali is set to cause a lot of congestion on the streets of Louisville in Kentucky, United States.

Muhammad Ali, known as 'The Greatest', died on June 3, 2016.

As expected, the whole world is set to pay their last respects to one of the most celebrated sports figures of his generation.

Based on Ali's popularity, this event is expected to attract a lot of traffic congestion to that part of Kentucky.

In a press conference, Louisville Mayor, Greg Fischer, said his officers was ready to tackle the traffic, as thousands of people arrive to honor Ali.

"We're proud and prepared to welcome visitors from all over the world," Mayor Fischer added.

1,200 Louisville Metro Police officers are expected to handle downtown traffic.

Muhammad Ali's memorial service will last for two days.
