'Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, give me a loan and i will stop attacking road users'- traffic robber vows

A traffic robber has promised to change his ways if the governor of Lagos state, Akinwunmi Ambode, gives him a loan for his business.

While revealing the mode of operation of his three-man gang, he promised to quit on one condition.

Bakare promised to stop attacking Lagosians, if the governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, gives him a loan for his business.

“Our mode of operation was to stop people and search their bags in traffic; thereafter, we will rob them of their phones and other valuables. My role in the gang was to point gun at our victims while others would hurriedly collect money and phones, " he revealed.

“I want the Lagos State governor to assist me with a loan to start a business. If I am given the loan and have a business, I would stop robbery," he vowed.

Mr. Fatai Owoseni, the CP of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, disclosed what was found on the suspect during a ‘Stop-and- Search’ operation on January 23, at Ebute-Meta area.

“During a search of the suspect, one locally-made pistol and six live cartridges were recovered from him."
