The Lagos State Government has paid over N535 million to the West African Examination Council (WAEC) as registration fees for students set to take the exam in the state.
Government spends N535M on WAEC fees
The state government said further that it would continue to foot the exam bill for all SS3 students attending public schools in the state.
This was disclosed on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, by the Commissioner for Education, Olayinka Oladunjoye during a ministerial press briefing in the state.
She also said that the state government was determined to ensure academic excellence by organizing daily after-school lessons for the students.
