Opening a bank account is so easy.

The usual requirements for creating a savings account is a government-issued ID card (driver's licence, international passport, national ID card, permanent voters card), a utility bill reflecting the customer's residential address, and two or three passport-sized photographs.

For current accounts, the requirements vary slightly from bank to bank, but usually include the same requirements for saving accounts as well as two referees that must operate current accounts with the same bank.

Once the requirements have been provided, the customer is served an account opening form and may be required to make an initial deposit. Usually, the account becomes active immediately or within a few hours.
