The Consumer Advocacy Foundation of Nigeria (CAFON) will today, Tuesday, March 1, 2016 embark on its No Banking Day agenda in protest of the excessive bank charges that has become a burden to customers.

The protest is being led by the group's head, Sola Salako, as they seek to address the high charges imposed on bank users based on a directive from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Some of the developments which CAFON is fighting against are the N65 charge on every third withdrawal made from other banks, N105 charge on every online transfer, N1000 for Debit card issuance and renewals and so on.

As its demands, the group wants commercial banks and the CBN to review its current policies by considering some solutions which include a redress of all banking charges downwards, notification of customers on bank charges and so on.
