Terrorists capture another Borno town

Boko Haram insurgents invaded Damasak and caused residents and even soldiers to flee the area after disguising as traders and shooting sporadically in the town's market.

Boko Haram terrorists have reportedly captured another town in Borno State after an attack on Monday, November 24.

The insurgents invaded Damasak and caused residents and even soldiers to flee the area after disguising as traders and shooting sporadically in the town's market.

A military source told Punch that the terrorists caught soldiers deployed to the area “unprepared and on the wrong foot.”

Another source said that the militants arrived at about 5am on Monday

"My colleague who was among the 300 company at the Damasak camp called me from Gubio that the insurgents attacked today (Monday) at about 5am and overrun our camp.”

“No one is sure of the number of casualties on both sides, but it was large and the civilians too did not go unaffected as the insurgents have killed so many people in the town and equally sent many fleeing,” the source said.

The military personnel added that the insurgents had taken control of the town saying “they are still there now and have sent many people on the run.”
