In an interview with Ebony Magazine a few weeks ago, Strahan gave a little insight into his relationship with the Hollywood Exes star, saying:
“For us it’s key that we maintain normalcy. We have a great life. People can buy into their own celebrity, and that’s a dangerous thing.”
Having survived a tremulous divorce, Strahan’s words ring true of his relationship with Murphy who was recently interviewed by The Jasmine Brand.
Speaking on the red carpet, the model-turned-reality star revealed a few things about her relationship with Strahan. When asked about their long engagement, she said:
” I’m not under the pressure. It seems like everyone else is. Everyone’s like ‘You all together?’, ‘What’s going on,?’ ‘How come I haven’t seen you post a picture of him?’. And I’m like, ‘It’s none of ya’ll’s business at this point.’ I’m good!”
She also shared the relationship lessons she has learned and currently lives by: “That I have a voice and don’t be afraid to be yourself and express yourself and ya know, be you.”
When asked how she models this in her current relationship, Murphy said: “Well it’s like now, I’m doing what I want to do. It’s like I don’t want anything to hold me back from what I want to do now. So it’s like heeyyy!”
Murphy’s last comment sparks interest since The Huffington Post reported that Strahan suspected Murphy of cheating in 2009 and placed a tracking device on her car.
Since then, the couple has remained very mum about their relationship.
