“At some point in my life, I was driven by heartbreak, to prove a point to the girl who broke my heart. At another point, I was driven by a need to be seen and heard,” he says. “Then, I was driven by a need to provide upfront value and that was when I transitioned [away from journalism].”
Okpala realized that as much as he had the privilege of context and insight, certain people on social media had the platform and followers to jump on conversations, and create the illusion of insight and value. The worst part: it works like a charmer.
