'Hunger Games' theme park to be set up in Atlanta and China

The Atlanta location which will be called Avatron Smart Park is expected to open sometime in 2019.

Very soon, 'District 12' will not just be another film location, but a tourist attraction where fans can unleash their inner 'Katniss'.

Lionsgate Entertainment, producers of the blockbuster movie franchise, 'The Hunger Games' are in talks to set up 2 theme parks  in China and Atlanta which will feature rides and other attractions based on the movies.

The Atlanta location which will be called Avatron Smart Park is expected to open sometime in 2019.

The park, which won't be built by Lionsgate, but licensed to developers who will assume the construction cost.

Meanwhile, another Lionsgate entertainment zone in the United Arab Emirates is closer to completion.

Said park is set to open next year and will feature a 'District 12' complete with costumed characters and Peeta Mellark’s bakery.

There will also be other zones dedicated to other film properties like Step Up and Divergent.
