Literary
So, Chimamanda came to Lagos surrounded with a lot of buzz and excitement, and did a series of meetings with her fans and the press. In a press conference on Monday, she announced that the Farafina creative writing workshop, which has gone on for 10 years, will be rebooted with new partners, Trace TV, under the name, Purple Hibiscus Trust Writing Workshop.
In other news, Rafiki, the Kenyan film about lesbian love, is coming to Ake Festival! This is good news as the movie was just cleared from a ban in Kenya which will allow it be submitted to the Oscars. Ake festival, which will hold in October, plans to show the movie to show solidarity.
We also did an author spotlight of Amos Tutuola, the man who wrote the first novel from West Africa.

Did you know about the woman on the 20 naira note? Ladi Kwali was one of the greatest potters from Africa and she was featured at the back of the Naira note as the only woman on the Nigerian currency.
The artistic community welcomed Laolu Senbanjo "Laolu NYC", the visual artist, in Lagos. He revealed a new partnership with Belvedere Vodka to unveil a limited handcrafted bottle series.
Lastly, here's all you need to know about art icon and living legend, Chief Nike Davies-Okundaye.

As we all know, being mindful of other people's culture is important. Check out all the things you should not do when visiting the Oba of Benin's palace. We also brought you gist from the Voodoo festival which held in Nigeria.
