Vogue announces the theme of this year’s Met Gala with 10 world-famous models

The 2023 Met Gala's theme is ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’, which pays tribute to the late creative director of Chanel who died in 2019. This year's Met Gala will take place on May 1st at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Anok Yai, Shalom Harlow, Kendall Jenner, Liu Wen, Adut Akech, Natalia Vodianova, Naomi Campbell, Amber Valletta, Gigi Hadid, and Devon Aoki are among the ten models that Lagerfeld loved most on the cover of Vogue’s May issue.

Ten designers, including Donatella Versace and Olivier Rousteing who were influenced by Lagerfeld's avant-garde creations, were asked to reimagine it. They made outfits for these ten models.

The show will examine Lagerfeld's design process and will include more than 150 items from his six-decade career at Chanel, Chloé, Fendi, and his eponymous label.

Lagerfield's large collections and archives from Patou, Chanel, Fendi, Chloé, Balmain, and his eponymous brand will be the reference point for guests in attendance.

Last year's Met Gala was themed an Anthology of Fashion in America. The high points were Kim Kardashian wearing Marilyn Monroe's gown and Blake Lively's gown transformation on the red carpet. We can't wait for what this year has in store.
