Over 1000 gorgeous women attend 2018 edition of SLAY Festival

The festival proved to be everything it promised: educative and interactive with over 18 inspirational speakers, master classes and 5 educative panel sessions.

On Saturday, February 17, 2018, over 1200 guests attended the second SLAY Festival by She leads Africa, celebrating technology, innovation, culture, arts, music and food.

Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos was opened at exactly 12 noon to over 1000 gorgeous women ready for an educative and interactive workshop.

Sessions

By 1:00 PM on February 17, 2018, the stadium at Onikan was already full of women eager to learn, network and vibe. The line of young people waiting for their registration curved through the streets and ticket prices immediately shot up to N6,000. Canopies filled with different vendors were seen everywhere along with a daycare for motherss.

At one workshop, women gathered to listen to prominent speakers: Funke Opeke, CEO Main One Cable, Betty Irabor, founder of Genevieve Magazine, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Ink Eze, founder of Asoebibella, as they shared their experiences and expertise. Discussions were centred around ‘personal branding for career women’, ‘introduction to coding’, ‘taking mobile photography to the next level’, ‘blockchain’ and ‘millennials guide to managing personal finances’.

Oyiza Salu, Group Head of Human Resources at Guaranty Trust Bank led a panel discussion on "How To Get A Job At Nigeria’s Best Places To Work" while Tonye Cole, Executive Director and Founder of Sahara Group, shared his years of experience as an entrepreneur and innovator during a discussion of "Developing Your Leadership Style".

From 2:00 PM, a 45-minute intimate coaching session with a senior leader kicked off. Topics were centered around strategy, marketing, career growth and relationships, networking experience and developing connections. By 4:00 PM the party kicked off with live performances, skin care demonstrations, free cooking lessons by Maggi and interactive games.
