Quick Medical Consults invites members of the public to a mass deworming exercise to be hosted by the medical outfit in Ijeh Police Station this Saturday. QMC who have already dewormed over fifteen thousand kids in Nigeria so far through this program are not relenting in their fight against worms and worm infestation.
In addition to deworming the children, QMC and its celebrity partners will also educate and sensitize the environs on the effects, dangers & prevention of worms and worm infestation.
The celebrity partners for this edition of the QMC newly rebranded deworming exercise include prolific rapper Vector, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Derenle, Pita, Shaydee, J'Odie, others.
Children contract worms by walking around barefoot, drinking unclean water or eating unclean food Poor sanitation and hygiene, coupled with very little to no access to clean drinking water make these children especially susceptible. It is estimated that as many as 2.3 billion people are infested with intestinal roundworms globally. Roundworms are one of the greatest killers of children and humanity. You can’t always tell from the outside if someone is infected as the effects silently accumulate over time as children grow up physically and mentally stunted and as the immune system gets weaker. These infected children develop significantly lower cognitive skills and functions and are stunted physically.
The exercise aims to deworm no less than 500 children on Saturday from 9:00am on Saturday at The Ijeh Police Station. (Volunteers are to convene by 8am)
Quick Medical Consults is a provider of emergency and first medical services. It is run by Doctors Ojia Adamolekun and Busola Shonowo. #wormfreezone is their way of building the society and tackling one of the many scourges that affect the Nigerian child.
