A Chinese man went viral after trying to retrieve his treasured smartphone from a freshly-filled toilet.

A Chinese man went viral after trying to retrieve his treasured smartphone from a freshly-filled toilet.

The man had just done his business and was in the process of pulling up his trousers when his new smartphone fell out of his pocket and down the pipe.

He resort to putting his entire arm into the disgusting filthy toilet, with his face coming within inches of touching the brown mess.

Sadly for him, he was not able to reach the phone and his arm got stucked in the filthy pipe.

The accident took place at the Haining, a city in eastern China’s Zhejiang province.

After seeing that there was no way out, the Chinese man cried out until someone arrived to help.

Firefighters were called and they spent an hour trying to free his arm and they had to break the ceramic loo to free the man's arm.

Unsurprisingly, his limb was left red and swollen.

The unnamed man who claimed he just bought the Phone said: "My arm was stuck there and waste kept spewing out towards my face. It made me really sick.

"But had I known the consequences, I would have never plunged my hand inside to try and get it."
