Taylor Gammel, 19, also stopped at a store but stayed asleep the whole time and did not remember a thing afterwards.
The 19-year-old sparked a panic at 6am when her father woke up and found she was missing from their home in Arvada, Colorado.
Miss Gammel has a history of sleepwalking and police put out an alert for her.
They also put a dog out hunting the streets and distributed her picture on the internet and TV.
Three hours and nine miles later, Miss Gammel was found by her cousins in another town, still asleep in her pyjamas on a chair.
Her father Steve said: '“She just starts walking. And I don’t think she knows where she's going or what she’s doing which makes it even scarier.”
Mark Techmeyer of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office told Mirror UK: “She did not have shoes, No phone, no money, no purse, no anything. She got up and walked out of the house.
“She has no recollection of being on a bus, and she had no money on her.”
Miss Gammel suffers from a severe form of sleepwalking which affects between one percent and 15 percent of the population, mostly children.
