The accused, Akeem Omole, who resides at 35, Olaleye Street, Oko-Oba, Agege, a suburb of Lagos, was arraigned on a one-count of rape, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
The court heard that the offence was committed at Omole's residence after he called the 16-year-old victim into his room under the pretence of sending her on an errand.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Simeon Inuoha, said, that the accused shut the door and raped the victim.
NAN reports that the accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B. O Osunsanmi, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Osunsanmi adjourned the case to January 31, 2017 for mention.
