In a few hours from now, our beloved country, Nigeria, will clock 54 years. The event will be marked with pomp and panache by the leadership in the country but in truth, has the dreams of the founding fathers who fought for the independence of this nation been met?

For years, we have grappled with corruption, nepotism, insecurity, unemployment, bad leadership and myriads of problems that seem not in a hurry to abate.

But be that as it may, we have refused to lose hope, still holding on to the belief that everything will turn out for the better and we keep praying for Nigeria.
