30 miners killed by unknown gunmen

At least 30 miners have been killed by unknown gunmen in Zamfara state on Monday, November 7.

The Nigerian Police Force recently killed five armed robber suspects

The gunmen reportedly attacked the miners at a mine in Bindim, Maru Local Government Area of the state, Daily Post reports.

According to the reports, the tragic incident occurred on Monday, November 7.

Daily Post reports that while confirming the incident on Tuesday, November 8 in Gusau, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Shehu Muhammad said that the command is yet to confirm the actual number of those killed during the attack.

Muhammad reportedly disclosed that investigation into the killings has begun and that the Anti-terrorism Squad of the command has  been deployed to the area to join the Army in trailing the gunmen.

The PR officer assured that the assailants would be apprehended.
