A Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Thursday granted a N20,000 bail to a teenager, Sadiq Abdullahi, who is standing trial for allegedly stealing six pieces of u channel iron valued at N81,000.The Chief Magistrate, Mr. A.A. Paul, who gave the ruling, also granted the accused one surety in like sum.Paul said the surety must be gainfully employed with an evidence of tax payment.

Abdullahi, 18, whose address is unknown, pleaded not guilty to a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Sgt. Christopher Okoliko, told the court that the accused with others still at large committedthe offence at Elo Steel Ltd, Orile-Iganmu, Lagos, on May 16.
Okoliko alleged that the accused and others conspired to steal six pieces of U Channel iron valued at N81,000, propertyof Elochukwu Agba.The offence contravened Sections 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015 (Revised).The case was adjourned until June 5 for mention.
