The best graduating student for the 2014/2015 academic session at the Lagos State University LASU, has brought many to tears with his grass to grace tale.

Arowosegbe Micheal Aderibigbe has been reported to have graduated with Cumulate Grade Point Average (CGPA) of  4.68 from the Biochemistry Department.

Sadly, Mr Aderibigbe had been involved in an accident on campus, causing him to be almost bedridden, cutting off his ability to work.

While giving his speech, Micheal said:

“My dad had been here for about five years before I secured admission, but I could not tell my friends because I was afraid of being attacked. So I kept it a secret.

“I witnessed a protest  in 100 Level, where my father was stoned. I could not cry.”

Micheal when on to recount how his choice of LASU had initially been accidental, having failed to gain admission to study Medicine and Surgery at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), even with his Post-UTME score of 287.

Mr Aderibigbe had persisted in convincing him to settle for LASU, which he had chosen as a second choice initially.

The Vice Chancellor of LASU, Prof Olanrewaju Fagbohun, thanked Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for stepping up the infrastructural pace of the institution while admonishing the graduands to carry themselves with honour, adding that they would always be a part of their alma mater.
