Man docked for raping woman with down syndrome

A Pakistani have been convicted of sexual assault after he raped an Irish woman with Down syndrome.

As reported by Punch, the suspect called by Faisal Ellahi, 34 lured his victim into his house after seeing her on the street near his Dublin home.

It was also gathered that Ellahi who moved to Ireland in 2005 and was formerly working as a security guard spends most of his jobless time walking the streets of Dublin looking for women to have consensual fun with.

However, judgement day finally come for him after the jury saw DVDs of interviews with the victim in which she said she became separated from her mother on a street before being stopped by Ellahi who took her to his house where he raped her.

“I wanted to go home but he wouldn’t let me,” she said. At one point she panicked and started banging on the door screaming “help, mum, help.” Says the victim.

Although the suspect admitted sexual contact with the victim but denied penetrative sex and claimed that he did not know she had a mental impairment.

The jury found the suspect guilty of sexual assault after 2½ hours of deliberations and a five-week trial.

The court has set a sentence date for January 18th, 2016.
