Unemployed man granted N300,000 bail for raping 15-yr-old girl

Punch reports that the accused who resides at Tele Odunloye St., Ikorodu, a suburb in the state, is facing a one-count charge of rape.

The prosecutor, Insp. Simeon Inuoha, told the court that the offence was committed at Giwa's residence.

The court heard that the accused raped the victim who had been sent to his compound on an errand by her mother.

“The victim’s mother had sent her on an errand to the compound of the accused, who called the girl inside and raped her,’’ he said.

The offence contravened section 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

However, Punch reports that the accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B. O. Osunsanmi, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to January 12 for mention.
