The flood led to destruction of properties in seven communities in the Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The environmental hazard also led to the loss of farm crops, and a search for a resident who has been declared missing after the incident.
According to Punch, seven communities, Dage, Yalwata, Akura, Uga, Gidan Buba, Gidan Buba and the Uga bridge, were affected by the flood.
Mr. Suleiman Wambai, who is the Sole Administrator of the Lafia Local Government Area, blamed the incident on the blockage of drainages in the area.
The disaster, which has led to the destruction of valuable materials and lives, has been reoccurring for many years according to community leader in Gidan Buba.
The recent downpour lasted for several hours, report says.
