You can now post graphic photos on social network

Facebook relaxes its censorship rules to accommodate graphic and violent images as long as they are news worthy.

Well, it seems Facebook is about to remove that restriction. According to a blog post by the social media network, graphic and violent photos will now be accepted Facebook as long as they are deemed 'newsworthy'.

The post said "In recent weeks, we have gotten continued feedback from our community and partners about our Community Standards and the kinds of images and stories permitted on Facebook.

"In the weeks ahead, we’re going to begin allowing more items that people find newsworthy, significant, or important to the public interest — even if they might otherwise violate our standards."

This shift in policy was influenced by the backlash Facebook received when it took down a photo of a naked Vietnamese child running through a field. The photo won a Pulitzer, but Facebook described it as child porn and took it down from its site.

While you can't go ahead and post your topless photo or artistic nude flicks, Facebook is loosening the belt in its censorship rules. Don't just expect Facebook to be Tumblr any time soon.
