2 armed robbers shot dead in gun battle with police in Delta (Graphic Photo)

Two notorious armed robbers in Delta State have been shot dead during a gun battle between them and the police.

South-South News reports that the two suspects had robbed a victim who was returning from a bank and snatched the sum of N300,000 from the man.

They were said to have attacked other people and snatched mobile handsets and other items on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, before fleeing in a tricycle.

But one of the victims quickly alerted men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), who were on a patrol in the area and they went after the robbers and cornered them at Agbassa junction, between Warri/Sapele road.

On sighting the police, the robbers allegedly opened fire on their vehicle but the police returned fire and in the end, two of the suspects were gunned down while the third member escaped with bullet wounds.
