“The accused jumped down from their motorcycle, approached the complainant, commanding her to surrender her bag. They threatened to shoot her son if she refused to comply and for fear of being harmed, the complainant gave them her bag.

The accused jumped back on their motorcycle and rode off,” Inspector Nwosu said.

The prosecutor added that the offences contravened Sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011 with Section 285 prescribes a three-year jail term for offenders.

When the charges were read to Olayinka, he pleaded not guilty and Magistrate Adesanya admitted him to the bail, adding that he should produce two sureties as a condition for the bail, before adjourning the case till January 16, 2017, for a mention.
