20-yr-old man rapes 5-yr-old girl to death in Bayelsa

In what can be seen as one of the most despicable crimes, a 20-year-old man has been arrested by the Bayelsa Police Command for raping a 5-year-old girl to death.

This little girl was raped to death

It was gathered that the suspect, a native of Akedei Community, a riverine area in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state, allegedly raped the minor on Saturday, August 13, 2016, after luring her into a bush and defiled her, leaving her bleeding profusely.

Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Asinim Butswat, said the remains of the young victim had been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre for autopsy while the suspect is being detained at the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department (SCIID), as investigations continue.
