A daring photographer fell to his death as he tried to take pictures on top of the Four Seasons Hotel in New York City. Connor Cummings, 24, who managed to gain access to the rooftop and climbed over scaffolding on top of the 52-storey Manhattan hotel slipped and fell nine storeys to his death from the Four Seasons Hotel in Manhattan.

He and a friend, 18-year-old Dimitri Olivares, were on Wednesday attempting to take pictures of the New York skyline around 11.15pm, according to NJ.com.

Sights from the scene of the occurrence has led to the belief that the young photographer slipped as he tried to climb through a hatch and fell down nine storeys, landing grotesquely on a 43rd-floor walkway. Of course the fall proved mightily fatal as the 24 year old student from Rockaway died instantly at the great fall.

His friend, Pat Olivares, who witnessed the occurrence reportedly panicked, climbed back down and fled the flighty building.

Reportedly he was already in a taxi when he had a change of heart and returned to the hotel where he told his mother and security what had happened.

The teenager was duly questioned by officers from the New York Police Department and later released without charge, the Daily News reported.

The family of the deceased photographer have spoken of their shock following the incident.

His aunt Kate Gentile told WABC: "We’re trying to get answers.

"They say that he went up the elevator, and then went up a stairway and then went out on a balcony.

"He’s a young kid... A good kid. They weren’t drinking or anything. They were taking a picture."

In a statement, a spokeswoman said the Four Seasons Hotel was "saddened" by Cummings’ death, according to the Daily News.
