4 men appear in court for alleged threat to life, unlawful possession
The men are standing trial on a four-count- charge of conspiracy, malicious damage, breach of peace and unlawful possession.
The men, Ambali Badaru, 70; Segun Jinadu, 37; Amodu Sanni, 37 and Sefiu Agoro, 43, who all reside in Lekki area of Lagos, are standing trial on a four-count- charge of conspiracy, malicious damage, breach of peace and unlawful possession.
They, however, pleaded innocence of the offences.
The Police Prosecutor, Insp Romanus Unuigbe, alleged that the men and others still at large, committed the offences on April 20, at about 12:30 p.m. at Okun Solu, Orunmija, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos.
He said that the men stormed Orunmija Street and headed straight to the house of one Babatunde Orunmija, where they discharged loaded fire arms and threatened his life.
Unuigbe explained that the men, who had other dangerous weapons in their possession, maliciously damaged six plastic chairs valued N16,000.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 51, 56 (1), 339 (1), and 412 of the Criminal Laws Cap 17, Vol.3 Laws of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2015 (Revised)
The Chief Magistrate, Mr P.A. Ojo, granted bail to each of the accused in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties each in like sum.
Ojo adjourned the matter to Aug. 8 for substantive trial.
