He said he was on his way to a football match around the Araromi area of the state capital when some members of a cult group gave him the arms, causing the Anti-Vice operatives of the Kwara State Police Command to arrest him.

“I was going to the field to watch a football match on March 3. Some members of a gang, who were at my back, saw soldiers coming and they ordered me to take the guns from them; that if I did not take the arms, they would kill me.

“I was afraid and I collected the guns from them. Suddenly, the soldiers said we should stop and I threw away the guns, but they arrested me.”

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sam Okaula, soon after assured the public that the war against cultism in the state is ongoing, and that the police will do everything possible to protect the people of the state from any danger.

He urged residents to furnish the police with any information that can lead to the arrest of crime syndicates all over the state.

The suspect, Abdulraheem was paraded with other suspects who also made claims of being framed for various crimes, including cultism.
