Lagos Prepares For Feast Of Words At #WordUp Volume 8
WORD UP Volume 8 promises "great intellectual content and plenty of entertainment"
i2X Media Company Limited, organisers of the WORD UP Spoken Word event have announced August 16th as the date for the Volume 8 of the biggest Spoken Word Poetry event in Nigeria.
QUAD T Event Centre, along Gbagada Express Way beside ECOBANK and opposite UPS, will play host to a feast of words.
It promises to be a must-attend event as established Spoken Words artistes like Plumbline, Atilola, Benny Finisher, Sheila Ojei and Uche Uwadinachi, as well as exciting new faces like Graciano, Aquila, ArchAngel and a host of others will set the stage on fire.
Olumide Holloway, convener of WORD UP, told Student Pulse that the audience would be treated to great intellectual content and plenty of entertainment.

"WORD UP is feast of words where the audience are guaranteed a great time to hear, feel and express the power of words that inspire change, and words that makes sense out of nonsense and senselessness," Olulu said.
Olulu added that his company will continue to be a major player in Spoken Word Poetry genre because of its immense socio-economic benefits to society.
"We are passionate about Spoken Word Poetry as a genre of entertainment, a tool to increase the level of literacy, a means of livelihood and a medium of communication among people across the globe," he said.
i2X Media Company Limited's repertoire of poetry events include War Of Words, Chill and Relax (Open Mic), Word Up Mini Series (Open Mic) and Word Up Talk/ Seminar Series.
"We have engaged over 10,000 people through our interactive social media platforms and provided a stage for over 100 poets to showcase their talent to the world."
WORD UP features the best and upcoming Spoken Word Poets in Nigeria and seven editions have been held between August 2012 to February 2014.
