Fifty graduate trainees have received tools worth N2.5 million from the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Nasarawa State after completing of their training course.
50 graduates get N2.5m tools from Nasarawa NDE
The National Directorate of Employment has empowered 50 graduate trainees with tools worth N2.5 million in Nasarawa state.
The graduates were trained in blacksmithing, hairdressing, knitting, painting, photography and video coverage, among others under the Community Based Training Scheme.
According to the State Coordinator of the NDE, Alhaji Idris Wase, who spoke during the distribution of the tools, the trainees are being empowered to sart their own businesses and become self-reliant.
Wase said the said the programme provided short-term intensive training to unemployed youths and women.
He urged the beneficiaries to contribute their quota to national development in appreciation of the gesture.
NDE was established on 26th March, 1986 with the mandate to design and implement job creation programmes that will promote attitudinal change, employment generation, poverty reduction and wealth creation.
