A 13-year-old JSS one student of Oke-Aluko Junior Secondary School, Ilorin, has been found dead in Kwara, about three weeks after three teenagers drowned in the same well.
Gafar Solihu’s corpse was discovered in the narrow river by residents of the area.
His death comes barely three weeks after three secondary school students, all aged between 14 and 15, drowned in a well at Okerimi-Oro community in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
According to a Leadership report, the teenager drowned had gone fishing with his friends last Saturday.
Reports say Solihu had approached a deep side of the river and begun to sink.
His panicked friends fled.
According to a man who claimed to be the deceased's uncle, Mumin Ahmed, Gafar was last seen on Saturday afternoon before his corpse was sighted on the stream floating.
"It was around 7.00pm when we wanted to break fast that we noticed he was not around," he said.
"We searched everywhere and we could not find him.
"It was after endless search that we declared him missing.
“Somebody drew our attention that his corpse was seen floating on the stream, that is why we are here to evacuate him."
The incident was confirmed by the spokesman of the State Police Command, Okasanmi Ajayi.
