ASUU Strike Update: University Students Encourage FG To Fulfill 2009 Agreement

Students in Edo state are going againts the attitude of the federal government in the current strike action embarked upon by ASUU by protesting.

They carried banners and placards and fiercly marched around some streets in Benin City singing solidarity songs to express their disdain.

Spokesperson for the group, Festus Otono called on the federal government and Minister of Education to fully implement the demands of ASUU, while explaining that students may start indulging in various crimes due to idleness, as he appealed to the parties involved adhere to the 2009 agreement.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) embarked on strike two months ago to compel the Federal Government to implement the agreement reached with the union in 2009.
