The pontiff has indeed washed and kissed the feet of refugees with different religious beliefs.

With a gesture of goodwill, the pontiff kissed and washed the feet of Muslim, Christian and Hindu refugees.

The pontiff said that though the world is filled with various cultures and religions, we all are related and should live in peace.

“We have different cultures and religions, but we are brothers and we want to live in peace,” he said.

According to reports, both males and females from countries like Nigeria, Syria, Mali, Pakistan and India.

Other refugees in attendance wept as Francis poured holy water on their feet, wiped them clean and kissed them.
