Pontiff asks people to pray for Iraqi Christians

In the season of celebration, Pope Francis is calling on all Christians in the world to remember to pray for Iraqi Christians.

The pontiff stated that Christians in the Middle East suffers persecution.

Francis sent a letter, gift of liturgical vestments and some money to the Church in Need, a Catholic group that provides assistance to suffering Christians throughout the world.

The pope’s letter expressed his grief in seeing the Iraqi Christians suffering.

Following the multiple terrorist attack in Brussels on March 22, 2016, Pope Francis expressed his sympathy and prayed for the  families of the victims.

The pontiff prayed for God’s mercy on the lost souls and their families.
