Saraki gave the advice in a message by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Yusuph Olaniyonu, to mark this year’s Eid-el-Maulud (Birthday of Prophet Muhammad).

He also urged the Muslims to use the occasion to practice Prophet Muhammad’s precepts of piety, tolerance, justice and peaceful co-existence within our communities in the collective effort to overcome the current national challenges.

“With the current economic hardship in the country, there is no better time in applying the teachings of the holy Prophet on how to live a life of simplicity, ‘’he said.

He also called on them to ‘’lend helping hand to the needy in our midst.”

“This occasion also offers us the opportunity to redouble our efforts in assisting hundreds of Internally Displaced Persons in the North-East to enable them return home and live their normal lives.”

The Senate President, however, assured that the 8th National Assembly would continue to come up with legislative interventions to revive the nation’s economy and guarantee a united and prosperous Nigeria.
