British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Andrew Pocock has paid a visit to Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

Pocock visited Saraki on Friday, June 12, 2015, in the latter’s office in Abuja.

The envoy said, while speaking to journalists after the meeting that his country would offer necessary assistance to support Nigeria’s Senate in addressing its shortcomings.

“We discussed capacity building for the Senate both in general terms and also in areas of particular interest and difficulty, complex pieces of legislation. We briefly discussed some of the security inputs that we might make to help with the stabilisation of the security situation in the North East,” he said.

Pocock had earlier lauded Saraki’s victory, describing it as well deserved.
