Rivers State Governor sympathizes with Jonathan over sister’s death

Amaechi sent his condolences to the President via a statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, David Iyofor on Monday, January 5.

The Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi has commiserated with President Goodluck Jonathan on the death of his younger sister, Nancy Jonathan-Olei.

The statement reads: “We understand the pain and grief of losing a loved one. The pain of an untimely death is immeasurable, and we pray that God grants Mr President and the entire family of the bereaved the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”

“We also pray that the soul of the deceased rest in the bosom of the Almighty,” the statement adds.

The Governor also stated that the prayers and thoughts of the people of Rivers State were with the President and his family in their moment of grief.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has also sympathized with Jonathan asking him to take solace in God following the loss of his sibling.
