House of Assembly Speaker, deputy impeached for incompetence

The Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Momoh Jimoh Lawal was impeached along with his deputy, Aliyu Akuh today, December 10, 2015.

 

The Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Momoh Jimoh Lawal has reportedly been impeached.

Lawal was impeached along with his deputy, Aliyu Akuh today, December 10, 2015, Daily Trust reports.

The decision was taken by 17 out of 25 members of the Assembly who accused their leaders of incompetence, betrayal of trust and failure to represent them effectively.

Minority leader, Hassan Bello was also impeached.

The new speaker is Godwin Osiyi Ojo of the Ogori Magongo constituency while John Abah of the Ibaji Constituency was elected deputy speaker.
