A suspected Aiye Confraternity member, Adekunle Balogun, was on Monday brought before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly killing a man.

Balogun, 34, was charged for allegedly managing a secret cult, conspiracy and murder.

His plea was not taken.

The Magistrate, Mrs Helen Omisore, ordered that the accused should be remanded at Ikoyi Prisons, pending an advice from the office of the Lagos State director of public prosecutions.

Omisore adjourned further hearing on the matter until May 15.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp. Cousin Adams, told court that the accused committed the offences on Nov. 10 at Bamrak Hotel in Meiran, Abule Egba, near Lagos.

He alleged that the accused, an Aiye Confraternity member had used a plank to hit one Solomon Adepoju now deceased in the head, resulting to Adepoju’s death.

The offence Adams said, contravened Sections 41, 223, 233 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
