Renowned human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), has revealed his intention to sue the Federal Government for culpability in the injury he sustained after falling into a manhole on his way to work.

He made this disclosure while speaking at the National Stakeholders Summit on Whistleblowing in Abuja on Tuesday, November 14, 2017.

He said unlike the ordinary Nigerian, he won't let the issue rest and will file a lawsuit on Wednesday, November 15.

He said, "I am sure you saw me limping and using a walking stick when I was coming in. It is because I fell into a manhole while walking to my office on Shehu Shagari Way.

"I broke my leg and I am even wearing Plaster of Paris and I was even hospitalised. So, I won't like the ordinary Nigerian leave it to God. I have decided that tomorrow I will sue the Federal Government."

Falana had only just recently withdrawn a petition against the Nigerian Army at the Presidential Investigation Panel on Human Right Violations over the continued detention of his client, leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.
