The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) may arrest more officials of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) this week over a huge fraud, The Nation reports.

Operatives of the anti-graft Commission had reportedly stormed the headquarters and annex offices of NAMA last week Friday, February 12, and shut down operations in the agency for hours. They also took into custody three senior officials.

According to the newspaper which cited a close source to the EFCC, moves are being made to arrest five more NAMA officials this week.

The Director of Finance and Admin, Mrs. Aliche Clara; General Manager, Finance, Mr. Agbolade S; Assistant General Manager, ICT, Akinribido Bolaniran; Assistant General Manager, EMS, Atiku Abubakar and Project Manager, (Mrs.) Felicia Agubata.

The source said at least, N3billion was jointly discovered in the accounts of top officials of the agency, while N800m was discovered in the account of one of the accused.

It was gathered that the arrest is connected to some some frauds allegedly committed in the industry about four years ago.

When contacted, the General Manager, Public Affairs, NAMA, Mrs. Olajumoke Adetona was reluctant to comment on the arrests.

“I don’t have much details of the EFCC visit,” she was quoted to have said.

The three NAMA officials who were arrested last Friday and still in EFCC custody are the Managing Director, Mr. Abdulsalam Ibrahim, Mr. Adegorite O.M, and Assistant General Manager, Procurement, Mr. Amos Akpan.
