Nigeria's social innovation centre, CcHUB announces #G4G Challenge

The challenge will award top three ventures with a combined funding up to £35,000 and the top three ideas will be supported by the CcHUB pre-incubation program in late 2018.

The Giving4Goodchallenge is designed to explore the ways in which technology can increase individual philanthropy toward NGOs and CSOs in Nigeria.

The challenge will award top three ventures with a combined funding up to £35,000 and the top three ideas will be supported by the CcHUB pre-incubation program which will be focused on product development, distribution and business modelling to implement in late 2018 with applications closing on the 13th April 2018.

According to a statement made available to Business Insider Sub Sahara Africa, The Challenge is centered on how to increase transparency of NGO's and CSO's reporting, to gain trust and encourage more individual donations in Nigeria; how to effectively communicate the emotional appeal of causes supported by NGOs and CSOs, in order to trigger more individual philanthropy in Nigeria; and how to leverage technology to facilitate the ease of donating to NGOs and CSOs in Nigeria.

“We are looking for exciting technology-driven early stage ideas that can help encourage trust, and ultimately trigger donations to NGOs and CSOs in Nigeria,” he said in the statement.

CcHub in 2017 launched a similar programme for Nigerian graduates called the CcHub Graduate Programme. The programme, a 3-month immersive experience with the aim of equipping graduates with relevant skills to help them transition into careers.
