Check out this traffic app that could change your life

The MyFRSC app also allows users to call ambulance services and access a comprehensive list of offences and penalties as sanctioned by the FRSC.

A capable traffic app for the Nigerian tech space will always be a tough sell, but this app is actually worthy of carrying that title – ‘capable’.

It goes beyond just sharing live traffic updates across the city to incorporate details of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), specific emergency lines, tow services and FRSC officials.

The MyFRSC app also allows users to call ambulance services and access a comprehensive list of offences and penalties as sanctioned by the FRSC.

A shady FRSC officer can no longer scam you of that hard-earned N30, 000 you initially planned to buy your girlfriend/boyfriend something with, when your offence only has a N5, 000 fine attached to it.

You would be surprised at how many FRSC offences actually have very reasonable fines. For example, driving without your seatbelt only has a N2, 000 stipend attached.

I bet you have paid as much as N5, 000 before.

The developer of the app, Oyeleke Okiki, says the app was initially an NYSC community development project until a few month ago, according to a TechCabal report.

Right now, the app supports state-specific updates for Abia State, FCT and Lagos State. It is available on the Google Play Store right now.
