Obasanjo said this on Friday, November 21, while attending one of the events lined up for the Ake Book Festival in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Obasanjo said of Jonathan:
“His performance is below average. I will not accept responsibility for his performance. There is nobody that gets such a position without being helped.”
The former president also spoke on the rumours that he had knowingly chosen Jonathan as running mate to late President Musa Yar’adua because he knew the latter was sick
“Yar’Adua told me he was well. He showed me his medical report and I even consulted experts,” he stated.
Obasanjo had previously criticized Jonathan via a long accusation-filled letter written in December 2013 and recently also accused him of destroying the middle class just like late despot, Sani Abacha.
